Welcome to Vintage Technics 3.0
"Why isn't my particular model listed in your database?"
Panasonic has produced literally thousands of pieces of equipment with the Technics badge. This website only reflects items sold in North America, and with very few exceptions, only those items which showed up in AUDIO magazine's annual equipment directories.
"Do you have any of this equipment for sale?"
No.
"Do you know how to make such-and-such work, thread a reel-to-reel tape deck, fix my broken whatever?"
No.
"Do you have replacement parts, instructions, brochures, or service manuals?"
No.
"Where can I find that stuff?
Parts: Panasonic's parts look-up system. (But good luck actually finding anything you can purchase.)
General repairs: The Audio Specialist, Vintage Electronics
Turntable repairs: The Turntable Factory. Site devotes a section to Technics turntables, as well as one for the SL-1200M-series DJ turntables)
Some Instructions and Occasionally Service Manuals: Panasonic's toll free number 1-800-833-9626.
Service Manuals: Stereomanuals.com, A.G. Tannenbaum and Michelle Troutman.

"I have a piece of Technics equipment that I want to sell. Do you know what it's worth?"
It's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it. The prices listed in the tables are the highest MSRP for the last year the item was sold.
"Can I substitute this part for that part and not blow up my equipment?"
I don't know. You need to ask someone who knows electronics.
"Do you have any favorite pieces of equipment that you'd recommend to someone else?"
Receivers: SA-600, SA-700, SA-800 and SA-1000.
Turntables: SL-1600, 1600Mk2, 1700, 1700Mk2, 1800, 1800Mk2. SP-15 and 25. The 1300Mk2, 1400Mk2 and 1500Mk2 are also excellent tables, but unfortunately they have all developed serious problems with the arm lift mechanism over the years, requiring a very specialized and costly repair (something Panasonic cannot do).
Separates: SU-8077, 8088, and 8099 integrated amps. SE-9060, SE-A100, SE-A3Mk2, SE-A5Mk2 power amps. SU-9070, SU-A4Mk2, SU-A6Mk2 control amps. ST-8077 and ST-9030 tuners. And my personal favorites, the original micro-series components (ST-C01, SE-C01, SU-C01).
"I am an eBay whore. Can I use pictures from this website to sell my equipment?"
While I can't stop you if you're that determined to do it, I have to ask why would you want to? The pictures on this website are not pictures of the actual equipment you're selling, so in addition to it being downright lazy, it's also deceptive.
